Digital Magazine Brings Online World To Chattanooga Community

Tuesday, September 19, 2017

Badassery Magazine, started in 2016 by Samantha Parker and Kathy Rasmussen, is dedicated to inspiring and empowering women in business. Badassery showcases bravery, inspires the imagination and values the true spirit of collaboration, said officials.

After a year in digital circulation, and a growing following on social media in their private Facebook group We Are Badassery, the decision was made to bring the online world into the real world.

“Our magazine is all digital,” said Samantha Parker, co-founder and editor in chief. “It’s great to connect online but we know there is a need to connect in real life too, so we have started a few flagship groups in various cities across the country.”

Chattanooga is home to Mindy Quinn, a contributing writer and public relations manager for the digital magazine.  Ms. Quinn and her business Wildflower Promotions & Media Management is a sponsor of the Badassery Club, which is meeting again Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the fifth floor conference room of the Edney Innovation Pavillion.

“I met Samantha Parker in an online mastermind, before I even launched my business, and knew instantly that Badassery Magazine was something different, and something I wanted to be part of,” said Ms. Quinn.  “Our world with technology has opened so many doors for me, but it is still important to build relationships in person and to be an active member in the community. I know there are other entrepreneurs in Chattanooga who are looking for a group like this one, which is why we’re making it happen.”

Stefanie Crowe, director of Wealth, Knowledge and Happiness at Stone Bridge Asset Management and co-founder of the Jump Fund, will guest speak at the Oct. 3 meetup and discuss her transition from the corporate world to the entrepreneurial world.  Seating is limited.
