Simmons Joins The American Insurance Group

Scott Simmons has joined The American Insurance Group, LLC as partner and chief operating officer, effective Monday. Mr. Simmons, a Chattanooga native and graduate of The McCallie School, brings a diverse educational and professional background to the company. Mr. Simmons graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Finance (magna cum laude) and an MBA (summa cum laude), as well as a Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law (magna
cum laude). 

Following law school, Mr. Simmons practiced employment law at Miller & Martin PLLC in Chattanooga for five years. He has spent the last two years in ministry as senior pastor at Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church in Flintstone. At The American Insurance Group, Mr. Simmons will focus on managing and growing the company’s operations. 

“As our company has grown, we realized we had a need to systemize our processes and streamline our business,” said Keith Rocha, The American Insurance Group’s founder and CEO. “Scott’s legal and educational background will help us take the next step as we continue to grow, and we’re excited to have him on board.” 

The American Insurance Group was founded in 2014, and provides commercial and personal coverage to its clients.

Young Gets 23 Years In North Chattanooga Murder

Abram "AB" Young pleaded guilty on Tuesday morning to a murder in North Chattanooga and was sentenced to 23 years in prison. Young was 17 at the time of the 2015 slaying of 19-year-old Charles Holsey during a drug deal behind the Kangaroo on Dallas Road. He is now 20.
